Aishwarya Rai supports Salman Khan’s appointment as Goodwill ambassador


Actor Salman Khan on Tuesday received the biggest support from an unexpected quarter over the raging controversy on his appointment as goodwill ambassador for Rio Olympics.


Aishwarya Rai, who Salman had once reportedly fallen out with after being in a relationship, has thrown her weight behind the Bollywood Superstar.

Responding to a question from a reporter, as reported by ABP News, the former Miss World said, “Anyone who’s doing good or anybody who’s standing up for the betterment of art and sports must be appreciated.”

Many athletes including Olympics bronze medallist wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt and Flying Sikh Milkha Singh have criticised the appointment of Salman as the ambassador.

On Monday, Salman’s father and renowned scriptwriter, Salim Khan, had taken to twitter slamming Milkha Singh in defence of his son.
