Hours after hackers hacked the Twitter account of Bollywood megastar Amitabh Bachchan, singer Adnan Sami’s account on the microblogging site too was hacked. The group that hacked Bachchan’s account also appears to be behind the hacking of Sami’s account.
Similar to how Bachchan’s profile photo was replaced with that of Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, the hackers also changed Sami’s photo with that of Khan. The group identified itself as one Turkish Ayyildiz Tim.
The group also changed Sami’s bio info and wrote ‘Ayyildiz Tim Love Pakistan’ before adding emojis of Pakistani and Turkish flags and a heart. They posted several tweets with the pinned tweet read, “Who ever shows the courage to betrayal our brother country Pakistan know that you will see Pakistan’s prime ministers photo and pakistan flag as profile picture. Ayyildiz tim @ImranKhanPTI.”
Adnan Sami has more than six lakh followers on Twitter.
Reacting to the hacking of Bachchan’s Twitter account, the Mumbai Police PRO had said, “We have informed our cyber unit and Maharashtra Cyber about hacked Twitter account of Amitabh Bachchan. They are investigating the matter. Further updates awaited.”
At the time of writing this story, Sami’s account was in the process of being restored. While all tweets were deleted, the profile photo of Imran Khan and cover image had not been removed.
The hacking of Sami’s account made Pakistani social media users visibly happy as they ‘thanked’ the hackers.
