A few days ago, KBC host Amitabh Bachchan had showered praises on Ranbir Kapoor and his rumoured girlfriend Alia Bhatt during his Sony TV quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati. Speaking to one of his contestants, the Bollywood megastar had called them ‘gift’ of God. Bachchan’s comments were widely seen as a confirmation of the relationship status of Alia and Ranbir. Days later, Ranbir’s cousin Kareena Kapoor Khan appeared to have confirmed that the two were indeed in love could marry each other soon.
Kareena was in conversation with Karan Johar along with Alia Bhatt on the stage of Jio MAMI Festival. In hsi inimitable style, Karan asked Kareena if she ever imagined Alia as her sister-in-law. To which Kareena said with a broad smile on her face, “I’ll be the happiest girl in the world!” Kareena made sure that she looked at Alia while talking about Alia and Ranbir. Her reply was met with a loud cheer from the audience.
Alia, for her part, said, “Honestly I never thought about it but I don’t want to think about it now also. We will cross that bridge when we come to it.” Karan then teased Alia by asking, “Is there a bridge here?”
Karan’s interview of Alia and Kareena had also courted controversy after the Raazi actress accidentally uttered the F-word while speaking about Kareena’s beauty and fitness. Alia had told Karan, “She (Kareena) has always had such an amazing impact on me not only because she is a fabulous actor but also how reckless she was with her choices of films. She did films after films. She still is. Even today, she’s doing film after film after film. Like one would think how people say that ‘you get married and life slows down.’ Didn’t happen for her. Ok, you have a child and life slows down for you. Did not at all happen for her.”
Then came the controversial part of her comments that took everyone including Karana Johar by surprise. Alia said, “(Kareena)Rocking that track pant with a pout, it’s just f**king..!” Realising that she had made one of the biggest gaffes in recent times, Alia stopped. But, by then Kareena had already cover her face in disbelief.
Unaware of why everyone was suddenly so surprised with what Alia had to say, Karan asked Kareena, “What did she say?” Upon learning that the Raazi actress had uttered the F-word, Karan shouted, “Is this how I raised you?” This caused further laughter among the audience.
Both Alia and Ranbir will be seen in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra, which also features Amitabh Bachchan. The film is set to release on 25 December this year.
